How it works

OptiMyst is a fascinating technology that uses water to produce a realistic flame effect while also providing an optional heating source. 

Using a water tank that is conveniently stored in the back and the Optiglo ©  logs, a mist will slowly float between the logs. As the mist is refracted and reflected by the lighting provided bythe logs, a cool-to-the-touch, very realistic flame and smoke effects will appear.

Because the flame is a simple water vapor and the heating element is conveniently located just behind the “flame,” parents or pet owners will not need to worry about young children or pets standing or playing too close to a flame. 

The useful no heat feature also makes it ideal for those living in warm climates, or for those people who want to enjoy a real fire regardless of the season.

 

Some special features

Available as log sets, inserts, plug in electric fireplaces, or full mantel electric fireplaces, these fan-forced heating elements can provide warmth for areas up to 400 square feet. In addition, this electric fireplace can create a flame effect for up to 17 hours of continuous use before the water tank needs to be refilled.

Depending upon the model, additional features like an ember bed and remote control operation are also available.

Understandably, operating costs are a concern, but like the rest of our electric fireplaces, the OptiMyst electric fireplaces and inserts cost about 2¢ an hour when the flame is not in use and between 8-12¢ when the flame effect, depending upon location. 

Finally, the Dimplex manufacturers also include a one-year warranty upon purchase of their product. If you are interested, we can provide an extended warranty for an additional charge as well.
